I completed a Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Speech Pathology at La Trobe University. My studies gave me the opportunity to work in acute, long-term, and rehabilitative care across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, and adults. This experience showed me the significance of speech therapy in areas like fluency, language development, social communication, literacy, speech clarity, and swallowing.
I have over five years of experience as a speech pathologist in private practice, where I have worked across settings such as childcare, kindergarten, schools, homes, and clinics. My focus areas include evidence-based literacy support, neuroaffirming social communication, and oral language development. I enjoy tailoring therapy to each client's interests, ensuring that therapy is engaging and relevant.
I have extensive experience working with autistic people, as well as people with a diagnosis of attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, dysgraphia, anxiety, global developmental delay, persistent drive for autonomy / pathological demand avoidance (PDA), developmental language disorder, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) and genetic syndromes.
I am committed to staying current in the field by regularly attending professional development events. Areas of professional development include:
Sounds-Write Phonics Programme.
The Lidcombe Program.
The Science of Language and Reading - The Secondary Perspective (SOLAR Lab, La Trobe University).
Developmental language disorder.
Dyslexia, dysgraphia, and other learning differences.
Reading, spelling, reading comprehension and written expression.
Neuroaffirming practice and care.
Trauma-informed care.
Fluency disorders (including stuttering and cluttering). I am also a member of the Victorian Stuttering Interest Group.
Persistent Drive for Autonomy / Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).
Gestalt Language Processing (GLP).
I enjoy collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to offer holistic care. With your consent, I will communicate with the care team (e.g., occupational therapists, psychologists, educators, etc.) to ensure that all aspects of your or your loved one’s care are supported.
I am a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and a member of Speech Pathology Australia.
